Knowledge and impact
Turning expertise into useful knowledge, improved practices and observable results
Skills development does not stop at training
At the IIRCF, skills development goes beyond training. The lessons learnt from our programmes, the expertise drawn upon and the interventions carried out are capitalised on to enrich knowledge, inform practice and strengthen the capacity of professionals and organisations to operate in changing environments.
Five complementary dimensions
This section brings together five complementary aspects: the production of resources, the analysis of trends, the application of skills, the monitoring of results, and the promotion of the human expertise that underpins the Institute’s work.
-
Publications and resources
Visit the pagePublications and resources form the IIRCF’s documentary and technical foundation. Studies, guides, reference frameworks, notes, tools and educational resources help to structure and disseminate knowledge that can be utilised by professionals and organisations, in line with the Institute’s various Areas of Excellence.
-
Analysis and outlook
Visit the pageThis module focuses on understanding the changes affecting professions, skills, organisations and their environments. It enables students to put technological, economic, social, institutional and environmental developments into perspective in order to identify their implications and the preparations that need to be made.
-
Practical transformations
Visit the pagePractical Transformations demonstrate how a need for professional development or capacity-building can be translated into learning pathways, support and changes in practice. They illustrate the progression linking the initial context, the skills developed, their application and the results observed.
-
Results and impact
This sub-section brings together the information needed to assess the outcomes of the IIRCF’s interventions. It combines quantitative data, evaluation results, skills development and observable effects, whilst respecting confidentiality requirements where certain interventions cannot be identified by name.

Our experts
The IIRCF’s knowledge, programmes and initiatives draw on experts, trainers, practitioners and specialists from a range of fields. This page highlights their areas of expertise, their fields of work and their contributions to training, analysis, resource development and support activities.
From knowledge to transformation
Generating useful knowledge involves understanding developments, drawing lessons from them, translating these into skills, and observing the results achieved in practice. It is this continuity between expertise, learning, application and improvement that underpins the IIRCF’s approach and gives coherence to the ‘Knowledge and Impact’ section.
